Dear Neighbor,
I am sure that you all have received dozens of emails regarding COVID-19, so I will try to not repeat the same information. I did want to provide you with a city specific message though regarding the pandemic.
I and city leadership are closely monitoring the decisions and actions at both the state and federal levels. As you know this a rapidly evolving situation with new recommendations and cancellations coming every hour. I want to assure you, that despite this time of uncertainty I am present and working hard to keep city services available for all residents.
Below is a statement from Mayor Frey that I wanted to share. I appreciate his leadership and partnership with City Council as we work to stay on top of this novel disease.
As an aside, in order to promote the health and well-being of every resident I have decided to cancel my originally scheduled March 24 Palmisano Presents on Neighborhoods 2020. As we work to slow the spread of this disease, I know that hosting a large forum is not currently in our best interest. I have asked our Neighborhoods and Community Relations department to work with us on potentially hosting a forum in the near future. In the meantime, I have also asked them to extend the public comment period. I will know more about that soon.
This is a unique time for our city and country as a whole. These disruptions will be felt by many, but it is important to remain calm, stay up to date with Minnesota Department of Health information and remember that we are a resilient city and we will get through this together.
It is important for me to be responsive to constituents. I will not be shutting down the 13th Ward office. My staff may be working remotely at times, so you may need to leave a voicemail, but I assure you we will get back to you promptly.
Regards,
|
