 Military Honoree Nomination Deadline July 5
The deadline to nominate a Missouri veteran or active duty service member for the 2023 Missouri State Fair Military Flag Retreat Ceremony, sponsored by Capital Materials, Retrieving Freedom, Inc., and Starline Brass, is quickly approaching!
The Military Flag Retreat Ceremony honors veterans and active duty service members from across Missouri, and will be held in front of the Historic Administration Building on the Missouri State Fairgrounds. The ceremony will take place all 11 days of the Missouri State Fair and honor one individual each evening.
As a part of the selection process, individuals can be nominated using a form available on the Missouri State Fair website. Nominees must be Missouri residents and available to attend one of the 11 days of the 121st Missouri State Fair, Aug. 10-20. Once a nomination form is complete, it can be mailed, faxed, or emailed to the Missouri State Fair. The deadline to submit nominations is July 5, 2023.

Share Your Missouri State Fair Traditions
Traditions bring families and friends together and help us connect with our roots. Since 1901, the Missouri State Fair has been a tradition for our state. This year, we are asking fairgoers to share their favorite traditions. These traditions will be showcased on our social media and at the Fair!
We are gathering traditions big and small – like riding the trams, watching the pig races, grabbing your favorite food on a stick or even shopping! No matter what your tradition is, we want to know about it!
Complete the form at the link below to share your Missouri State Fair traditions and photos. Submit them by July 21, 2023 to be entered to win two tickets to each of the 2023 Missouri State Fair concerts. The winner will be selected at random and notified via email.

Retrieving Freedom
Visit Retrieving Freedom in the Agriculture Building during your visit to the Missouri State Fair, Aug. 10-20! Come hear first-hand how this nonprofit organization is dedicated to training service dogs for veterans and children with autism. According to retrievingfreedom.org, their service dogs “improve the lives of the people they are placed with. Not only do they help with specific chores and perform tasks associated with their training, but they also offer companionship and unconditional love.” Special thanks to Starline Brass for bringing Retrieving Freedom to the 2023 Missouri State Fair.
