Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services launches the Radon Poster Contest
Radon is a colorless, odorless radioactive gas found naturally in Missouri’s soil, and elevated levels are a major health risk. It is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers in the U.S. Most Missouri counties are considered high risk, and the Missouri Radon Poster Contest helps educate youth about the importance of awareness and testing.
Missourians ages 9 – 14 are invited to create posters that promote radon awareness and encourage testing.
Entries must be postmarked by October 10, 2026, and a state committee will select the winners.
Visit the DHSS website to learn more about radon. Click here to find out more about the contest details.
