This weapon was found in the vent of a cell following an incident involving 4 offenders. Staff are encouraged to look around after an incident to see if any weapons may have been discarded.
This potential concealment method was submitted by an officer as something to look out for. This is a hair tie (commonly known as a scrunchie) that has a zippered compartment in it.
This 6 1/4 inch weapon was found in an offender's shoe during a cell search.
While packing an offender's property due to TASC placement, noticed that his pillow had recently been sewn. Inside the pillow were 2 weapons and 6 possible future weapons. The report didn't mention the razors or sewing needle that is included in the photo.
An offender was diligently working away at sharpening this 4 1/2 inch piece of metal on his floor, when an officer conducting a security check observed him working so hard to get a point on the metal. When he noticed the officer, he tried to hide the weapon, however staff were able to recover the pieces shown below. It should be noted that the offender had made a detached handle out of a safety toothbrush with a piece from a fingernail clipper attached with string. The metal used by the offender is believed to be from an office door name plate.
This 8 inch weapon from a food service tray was found under an offender's mattress on his bunk. The offender claimed ownership when quesitoned.

When searching an offender on a serving line, staff found a small white plastic bottle with an unknown liquid substance in it. When field tested, it was positive for Methamphetamine.
An offender being escorted to the body scanner, surrendered to staff this 5 1/2 inch weapon, made of metal fencing that was inside his boxers, to staff. The subsequent scan showed no further contraband.

During a random cell search, 2 prison made weapons were found in the seal between the toilet and the cell floor. One metal rod approximately 8 inches long, with one end curved into a ring as a handle and the other end sharpened to a point. The other round piece of metal approximately 6 inches long was also found. The third piece of metal pictured, was found on the bunk. It is a flat piece of metal approximately 5 1/2 long wrapped in elastic string as a handle and sharpened to a point.
Staff observed an offender toss an item into a laundry cart. Upon inspection, this 4 inch weapon, sharpened to a point, is made from an eyglass arm.
A targeted cell search yielded this 5 1/2 inch weapon made of broken mirror and the handle is made with a sock.
Staff were told of an incident that had occured. Staff viewed the video footage and were able to recover a broken broom handle. Staff also located a broken wooden ruler made into a weapon in the offender's (who had been the aggressor during the incident) property.
These two pieces of metal were found during a targeted search of a cell. The use of a handheld metal detector helped to locate these two weapons in an offender's legal work.
This syringe was found during a targeted search of an offender. The syringe was located inside the offender's boot.
An offender was discovered, during a security check, slumped in his chair inside his cell. When staff entered the cell, they observed a food service glove tip with small objectes wrapped inside lying on the top bunk of the cell. The items were 7 individual wrapped pouches of magazine paper that the offender admitted was Fentanyl.
Staff completing a security check of a wing, discovered an offender unresponsive. Upon entering the cell staff observed a white, powdery substance in a ball, wrapped in a blue glove. Additional white powder was found on a piece of notebook paper. The offender claimed it was heroin.

When searching an offender being released from segregation to phase III, two weapons made out of a food tray were discovered in the offender's pillow.
During a security check, an offender was observed sitting on the top bunk, with his head nearly between his legs in the seated position. Staff entered the cell and observed a mirror sitting on the bunk with an unknow crystal like substance and a small baggy with a white powdery substance in it. The offender admitted it was ICE (Methamphetamine).
A folded up piece of paper with a crystal like, white powdery substance was found between the pages of an address book. The offender said it was Meth cut with powdered milk. The offender also admitted to having some Fentanyl in his sock, which was subsequently recovered.
This weapon was recovered after an offender attempted to attack a supervisor through the cuffing port of a cell door.

Two offenders were found to be under the influence of an unknown substance. The subsequent search yielded 3 containers of prison brew.

Offender being escorted from General Population to Segregation was processed through the Tek84 body scanner. The staff successfully recovered the approximate 5 1/2 inch weapon. The weapon is made from metal cut out of a light fixture and the handle was wrapped with tape.
A strip search of an offender following a visit resulted in a Methamphetamine bust. The 3 wire insulators were found in the offender's sock following a contact visit. A review of video showed the visitor removing the contraband from her inner bottom lip and dropping them on the floor. The offender then placed the contraband in his sock.
Following an altercation that took place inside a cell, a subsequent search of the cell resulted in this 7 3/4 inch metal weapon being recovered.
An offender under the influence was taken to the body scanner. An anomaly was observed on the scan. The subsequent search resulted in a lighter and pieces of paper being found in his sock. The paper tested positive foor Synthetic Cannabinoids and Cocaine. These findings triggered a targeted cell search, and additional contraband was found. Stamps (44) soaked in an unknown substance and a bottle of an unknown substance was found. Field test were positive for Cocaine.
Staff observed some possible drug activity while conducting the 2am count. A targeted cell search was conducted. Two pieces of paper, 4" x 6", infused with a waxy substance were found inside of gloves and 4 small pieces of paper were found hidden in a bible. The recovered papers tested positive for Cocaine.

During a cell search, staff observed a plate on the wall that the screws were loose. This large bag of tobacco was concealed behind the plate.
An offender attmepted to evade staff and dispose of the apple Iphone in the photo. The phone was recovered and the subsequent cell search resulted in staff finding two soda cans with hidden compartments. Inside were 10 strips of suboxone, $61 cash, a small baggie containing smaller baggies with an unknown substance and a larger bag with a white powder and white crystal type rocks inside. The charger to the cell phone, a vacuum sealed bag of tobacco and a bullet of tobacco was also found in the cell.

During a targeted cell search, a complete recipe for making meth was found in an address book. This is only a portion of the receipe, but it serves as a reminder of some of the unique places offender's hide information.
These are photos of an offender's cell, where he was found unconscious and not breathing in a cell. Staff initiated CPR and the offender was given 4 doses of Narcan. Staff were successful in saving this offender.
Another example of a unique hiding spot. This micro cell phone and 3 loose SIM cards were found in a prison pouch, that was hidden in a PVC pipe in a utility closet.
Staff searching the garage area (outside the perimeter) found a cell phone and charger. The cell phone was found in a pair of coveralls, that were stuffed into a desk drawer. Staff looked around and found the charger plugged into a power strip. It is important for areas that are outside the secured perimeter, where offenders have access to, be searched.
During a cell search, there were multiple food items found that were not sold in the Canteen. A can safe had packages of suboxone strips, an iphone charger w/charging block and an iphone headphone extension. Also found inside were multiple small bags of a crystalized substance pre-packaged for distribution. Further searching paid off, as an iphone (no photo) was found in a plastic sandwich bag inside a bag of coffee.
Staff searched a trash can that was in the parking lot of the institution. A total of 20 lbs of loose tobacco, rolling papers, 2 bottles of cologne, 5 pages of paper soaked in an unknown substance and 3 blank white pages with "Mx" or "xW" written in the corners.
An investigator working Vehicle Patrol observed what appeared to be contraband under a generator located outside the perimeter. Maintenance staff came and recovered the 9 packs of Berley Menthol 100 cigarettes.
Five CERT teams and SECURUS K-9's converged on a facility and 2 housing units were thoroughly searched. Staff recovered a multitude of contraband and items that had been stolen from staff.

While checking a metal culvert near a maintenance building outside the perimeter, a small black trash bag about a quarter full of what appears to be tobacco with flakes of white paper was found. Also found was a 4 inch long package about 2 inches in diameter wrapped in electrical tape. The contents tested positive for Methamphetamine.
Mailroom staff alerted the Shift Supervisor that they had received a 'kite' saying that there was a weapon in a locker. Staff were dispatched to search the area and a razor blade fashioned into a plastic handle was found.
This weapon fashioned from a plastic hanger was found on the outside window ledge of the gym.
True story... a car with no front fenders and very loud exhaust pulled up outside the front gate just outside the perimeter and attmpeted to throw 2 cylinder metal pipe pieces approximately 5 inches long over both fences. The items didn't make it over the perimeter fence but instead struck the fence causing the zone to alarm prompting vehicle patrol to respond. The pipes appeared to have been filled with tobacco.
Staff observed an offender displaying nervous behavior. Staff obtained permission from the Shift Supervisor to conduct a strip search of the offender. The contraband above was located in a sandwich baggie tied inside of the offender's long johns, sewn into the crotch area. The offender admitted that it was K2.

This weapon was believed to have been made from the plexiglass of a cell light.
This is a great example of teamwork as well. Investigators shared some intel with custody staff and they were able work with that information. The cell phone and 14.34 oz. of Methamphetamine possibly laced with Fentanyl was found.
