We have compiled photos of various homemade weapons and other significant contraband finds that have been sent to the Security Intelligence Unit for the Month of August, 2022. Our staff that are locating these items of contraband and homemade weapons are improving our overall safety and creating safer worksites for everyone!  Keep up the stellar performance and skill of identifying / discovering these items!!  Again, thank you for all you do everyday to ensure we all make it home safely!

Tobacco, Nicotine gum, Possible K2 Staff were able to secure the contraband before the offender was able to flush it.

ERDCC Marijuana

Staff performing a security check observed an offender with something in his hand, which he placed under his pillow. The subsequent cell search resulted in a total of 8 small bags of marijuana on the bed that was packaged for distribution to other offenders.

One weapon and syringe was found on an offender prior to a cell search. A second weapon was recovered from under the cell door.

Ice pick type weapon 7 3/4" long found in a pillow during a cell search

This 6 inch weapon was found during a random cell search. The officer noticed a white string hanging from the inside lip of the toilet and found the weapon. This is made of two pieces of fencing.

Weapon recovered following an offender assault 5 inches long metal from a light fixture

This weapon and the next two weapons were found in an offenders possession after securing the segregation offender into a strip out cage. The metal came from a light fixture.

Hiding place

Remember to be vigilant when searhcing items that have hollow spaces in them. These splitters can also be used as smoking pipes.

6 inch weapon

SCCC 4.75 aluminum

4 3/4 inch weapon found in a the seam of a shower door. Weapon appears to be made of aluminum.

SCCC 5 inch

Found while searching the shower area of a HU. Weapon 5 inches and sharpened to a point.

SCCC weapon 5 inch yard

5 inch weapon discovered following a fight on the yard. It is important to take a little time and look around the immediate area following a disturbance.

SCCC 5.5 weapon

Found in a cleaning closet above a pipe. 5 1/2 inches long and made of aluminum.

This 5.5 inch weapon was found by staff performing a security check outside the medical area. The weapon is made from aluminum.

SCCC 5.5 ice pick

This weapon was discarded by an offender when he approached the cell sense that was deployed during a mainline movement. The ice pick type weapon was melted into the pen.

This ice pick type weapon was found concealed under the lip at the very bottom of a desk.

SCCC Butter knife

This metal butter knife was found when staff searched the offenders property following an outcount at a hospital. The 8" knife had been concealed in a box of tissue.

SCCC 10 inch

Staff searching a cell, found a corner of a mattress had been torn. Staff found a tattoo gun in the mattress. Upon closer inspection of the matteress, this 10 inch knife style weapon was found.

SCCC metal clasp

This metal clasp had been removed from a foot locker and hiddent under a mattress.

SCCC Leatherman

An officer escorting a vendor into the facility observed a multi-tool laying on the walk. The Shift Supervisor was notified. Maintenance was contacted and a review of inventory conducted and found that maintenance did not have a tool of this type in their inventory.

During the search of an offender's property, a sewing needle was found glued into the reservoir of an ink pen.

SECC Heroine and Fentanyl

While searching a desk in the wing of a HU, that was being used as a microwave stand, a wad of toilet paper was found stuffed in the side rail where the door used to be. Located inside the toilet paper were two cellophane bags. The substances found were consistent with Fentanyl and Heroine.

Information sharing and subsequent search of the offender during count, resulted in offender being found in possession of Methamphetamine.

Two improvised weapons found during a search of a HU wing closet. A syringe was also found (no photo provided).

WMCC Wheel chair brake handle

Offender tried to dispose of this wheel chair brake handle before having to pass by a metal detector.

WMCC ice pick

This 8" ice pick type weapon was recovered from a hole in the ceiling where water pipes enter the second tier.

WRDCC K2

Staff smelling smoke in a HU resulted in finding two homemade lighters, homemade pipe and strip of paper consistent with recent K2 findings.

While performing a security check, and subsequent search, staff recovered homemade lighters and pipe, 2 squares K2 and intel.

WRDCC Suboxone K2

Due to offenders suspicious behavior, a strip search was conducted and Suboxone was found. While processing the property, 12 pieces of poster paper believed to be treated with an illicit substance was located.

ERDCC Tomahawk

This tomahawk was fashioned from a toilet plunger handle and the clip from a clipboard. The total length was 21 1/2 inches long. This was found in a common area of a HU sallyport. It was between an ice machine and the wall..
