Environmental and Social Wellness

Support your communities by staying safe out there!

We're all having to adjust our holiday plans this year in order to keep ourselves, loved ones and communities safe. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published an article with suggestions on how to stay safe while still enjoying the upcoming holidays.

Protect Yourself and Others at Work and at Home:

Huge thank-you to all who have received their flu shots so far. There is still plenty of time to do so; see your local Employee Health Nurse. With COVID-19 still on the rise and flu season and winter right around the corner, it is important, now more than ever, to keep yourself, your family and your community safe. We are strongest together, even though we must stay apart.

Thank you Employee Health Nurses!

Pictured to the left is Employee Health Nurse Zoye Gilliland giving Beth Vancil, Assistant Superintendent @ TCSTL, a flu shot during an October Flu Clinic.

If you haven't received your flu shot yet, see your local employee health nurse.

This is just one example of how we help keep our communities safe by promoting social wellness.

Gratitude Journaling: Have you heard of this? There are many scientific and psychological studies that have been done this year alone that have proven the positive effects of gratitude journaling.

All it takes: 5 minutes, a writing utensil, something to write on and a little mindfulness. Find a quiet place, take a deep breath, think about something positive, write it down. Reflect on what you've written. That's it.  Link to Intelligent Change Gratitude Journaling Article

*65% of Employee Wellness Survey participants indicated wanting resources for resilience, meditation, yoga, work-life balance, stress management, etc. THIS IS IT!
