Message from Director Anne Precythe about Governor Parson and COVID-19
Missouri Department of Corrections sent this bulletin at 09/25/2020 03:03 PM CDTHello, Corrections team!
I want to pass along a few things today, but I will be brief. First, in case you have not heard, the Governor tested positive for COVID a few days ago. I spoke with the Governor this afternoon, and he said he feels fine and does not have any symptoms. He continues to work remotely each day. I have a virtual meeting with him next week to provide an update on our department. Along with the update, I will be letting him know what an amazing job all of you have done continually facing this pandemic. I know it’s been a long, challenging road, and I am so proud of how we have all worked through it. I will also thank him again for his tremendous support for our pay plan that went into effect in January 2020.
Second, we know working in MODOC sometimes can feel like thankless work. I started as a frontline probation and parole officer 30-plus years ago (time is flying by), and I occasionally felt that way as well during the course of my career. But I want all of you to know this work is so important, and I, for one, am deeply thankful for you. I appreciate you and the work you do. You watch out for each other, you help each other, and you keep our communities safe every single day. We are a strong team. I appreciate you all more than I know how to say.
Be safe.
Anne L. Precythe
Director
