Visiting CANCELED at Maryville Treatment Center & Tipton Correctional Center

Dear families and friends: 

Because new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in some facilities, two changes have been made to the visiting schedule. 

• Visiting is suspended at Maryville Treatment Center until further notice. 
• Visiting will NOT resume at Tipton Correctional Center. The planned restart of visiting has been postponed, and visiting remains suspended until further notice. All visitors who had scheduled visits will be notified. 

Visiting continues as scheduled at the following facilities only:

• Algoa Correctional Center (ACC) in Jefferson City
• Jefferson City Correctional Center (JCCC) in Jefferson City
• Moberly Correctional Center (MCC) in Moberly  
• Western Missouri Correctional Center (WMCC) in Cameron 
• Kansas City Reentry Center (KCRC) in Kansas City - Friday through Sunday only

Mass COVID-19 testing of offenders and staff in all correctional centers has been completed, and visiting is expected to resume in the coming weeks at facilities with no active cases of the virus. Offenders will be notified.

To contain the virus, the department has begun COVID-19 random sample testing, in which 10% of the population of each facility is tested, to help identify possible asymptomatic outbreaks. The department also continues to test offenders on intake, before release, when symptoms are present, and when an offender has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus.
