Enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal at the J. Huston Tavern
The J Huston Tavern will be open for guests to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, Nov. 27. The meal will be served family style at two seatings at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
On Thanksgiving Day, diners will enjoy dinner, dessert, and a non-alcoholic beverage. The cost for adults is $19.95. The cost for children ages 5-11 is $10.95. Please note that prices do not include tax and gratuity. Children four and under are free. The menu will include platters of slow-roasted turkey breast (with cranberry relish) and raspberry-chipotle glazed ham. Sides include whipped potatoes, traditional gravy, cornbread dressing, sweet potato casserole, green beans, buttered corn, fruit salad, broccoli salad, cottage cheese salad and hot rolls with apple butter. For dessert, guests will have a choice of pumpkin pie, pecan pie or apple cobbler.
Reservations may be made by calling the J. Huston Tavern at 660-837-3200. Built in 1834 by Joseph Huston, Sr., the J. Huston Tavern is the oldest continuously operating eating establishment west of the Mississippi River. The Tavern is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is considered the centerpiece of the Arrow Rock State Historic Site.
