Missouri State Museum hosts “Pioneering Missouri Women” tours for Women’s History Month

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri State Museum is partnering with the Missouri Women’s History Blog to host a “Pioneering Missouri Women” tour of the State Capitol on Sunday, March 18, at 1:30 p.m. The program will be presented by the group Missouri Women. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, “Pioneering Missouri Women” is free of charge and the public is invited to attend.

 The tour will focus on Missouri women as pioneers in culture (Gable, Rogers, Baker), education (Duchesne, Blow, Wilder) and activism (suffrage, wartime nurses). Tours will begin at the State Museum tour desk on the first floor rotunda of the State Capitol. The program will be presented by “Missouri Women,” which was founded in 2009 with the theme “Women of the Past, Inspiring Women of Today.” For more information on the co-sponsor, the Missouri Women’s History Blog, please visit missouriwomen.org.
