Missouri PDMP Update

The following messages are from the Joint Oversight Task Force for Prescription Drug Monitoring:

The Missouri PDMP was implemented statewide on 12/13/23. Dispensers in Missouri that dispense prescribed Schedule II, III, or IV controlled substances must report the required dispensation information to the Missouri PDMP in real-time.  Exemptions to this include:

• a hospital that distributes such substances for the purpose of inpatient care or dispenses prescriptions for controlled substances at the time of discharge from such facility;
• a practitioner or other authorized person who administers such a substance; or,
• a wholesale distributor of a controlled substance.

 

LTC pharmacies are required to report to the Missouri PDMP.  Dispensations to infusion centers must be reported to the Missouri PDMP if dispensed under a Missouri BOP Pharmacy license.

If you dispense prescribed Schedule II, III, or IV controlled substances and are not submitting data to the Missouri PDMP, create a Submitter account with PMP Clearinghouse at:

Dispensers who knowingly fail to submit the required information to the Missouri PDMP, or who knowingly submits incorrect dispensation information are subject to an administrative penalty.

Transition Update

 

As part of the transition to the Missouri PDMP, participants of the St. Louis County PDMP were required to authorize the transfer of their historic PDMP data to the State.  The following jurisdictions failed to authorize the transfer of data by the deadline of 01/19/2024:

• Andrew County
• Cass County
• Crawford
• Greene County (City of Springfield information is available)
• Harrison County
• Iron County
• Lafayette County
• Osage County

 

When searching the Missouri PDMP, there will be no historic data for these counties.  If you have any questions, please contact the Missouri PDMP at PDMP@oa.mo.gov.
