Did you know that your continuing education courses need to be submitted to the board office for approval prior to the renewal of your license?
- Private Investigators are required to successfully complete sixteen (16) hours prior to April 30th of every even numbered year.
- Agency employees are required to successfully complete eight (8) hours prior to June 30th of every even numbered year.
Your continuing education MUST be approved by the board prior to the renewal of your license. Please refer to statute 324.1122 and rule 20 CSR 2234-6.010 for specifics regarding continuing education requirements.
A relevant list of approved courses is located on the home page for the Board of Private Investigator and P
rivate Fire Investigator Examiners at http://pr.mo.gov/pi
There are two forms located on the board’s website at http://pr.mo.gov/pi-forms
- CE Course/Program Review by Provider – if you attended a course that a provider has received approval by the board, you will receive the credit when the provider submits the attendance record. You do not need to do anything unless the provider fails to submit the attendance record.
- Individual Course Review by Licensee – if you attended a course or are going to attend a course you must complete this form and send it in with the required $10.00 fee for each course or program. Information you will need to send is further defined in the Continuing Education rule, 20 CSR 2234-6.010 which you may locate on the website using the following link: http://www.sos.mo.gov/adrules/csr/current/20csr/20c2234-6.pdf.
Please do not wait to send in your CE approval requests. Failure to complete this portion of your renewal process could result in your license not being renewed by April 30, 2012 or June 30, 2012 which will result in your inability to practice in the state of Missouri after that date until your license renewal can be approved.
If you have any questions, please contact our office.
