MO Board of Pharmacy Update

Office Updates

The Board office will expand operations beginning May 4^th.  While some employees will still be working remotely, the office will be open for regular business. 

• If possible, please e-mail the office at MissouriBOP@pr.mo.gov if you have an inquiry. Although staff will be answering calls, we anticipate longer than normal wait times due to volume.
• Office staff have been processing applications remotely during the State of Emergency. Please allow additional processing time before contacting the office regarding a newly submitted application.

 

Inspection Updates

Board inspectors will resume inspection activities on May 4^th.  To protect staff and the public, Inspectors will be wearing personal protection equipment such as face masks and gloves and implementing safety measures to prevent illness.  Please let your Inspector know if a member of pharmacy staff has recently tested positive for COVID-19 or is suspected of having COVID-19.

 

COMPOUNDING WAIVERS

Pursuant to Executive Order 20-04, provisions of the Board’s rules and statutes have been waived to allow implementation of the FDA’s recently issued Temporary Policy for Compounding of Certain Drugs for Hospitalized Patients by Pharmacy Compounders not Registered as Outsourcing Facilities.  See the Board’s COVID-19 waiver list on the Board’s website for additional guidelines/restrictions.

 

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN RENEWALS

The pharmacy technician renewal deadline has been extended until July 31, 2020.  All pharmacy technician registrations must be renewed by July 31^st or the registration will be deemed expired and void.  No grace period will be granted given the extended renewal date.

• Pharmacy technician expiration dates will be automatically extended by the office. You do NOT have to do anything to request the extension.
• Online technician renewals will be available until July 31^st. The renewal fee will remain $ 35. 
• Renew now and don’t wait until the last minute!
• Have a renewal question? Please e-mail the Board office at technician@pr.mo.gov. The Board office is open and accepting calls.  However, due to volume, phone calls may have a longer response time.
