DHSS UPDATES
► Master Plan on Aging: DHSS issued a news release today unveiling the Missouri Master Plan on Aging (MPA), a comprehensive 10-year roadmap designed to help Missourians age with dignity, safety and connection. Established by executive order in 2023 and shaped by input from more than 10,000 residents, the plan focuses on what matters most: affordable housing, reliable transportation, access to health care, and strong support for family caregivers. Organized around seven key domains—housing, transportation, whole-person health, safety, family caregiving, daily life and employment, and long-term services—the MPA provides practical tools for local leaders to create age-friendly communities. With Missouri’s older adult population projected to outnumber minors by 2030, the plan emphasizes collaboration and local implementation to ensure communities are prepared for demographic shifts and growing needs.
