American Red Cross

Emergency App

The American Red Cross Emergency App helps families know what to do before, during and after weather events.

The Emergency App provides: 

• Real-time emergency alerts for your area and other locations you choose.
• Step-by-step guidance for what to do during emergencies like tornadoes, floods, winter storms and heat waves.
• Emergency planning tools to help your family prepare ahead of time.
• “I’m Safe” messages so your family members can quickly know you are okay.
• Preloaded content which allows you to access guidance from Red Cross experts, even when you do not have access to the internet.
• Information in English and Spanish and is designed with accessibility in mind.

The app is free and can be accessed through the App Store or Google Play or by texting “GETEMERGENCY” to 90999. It only takes a few minutes to download the app and add your locations.
