MO ABLE
MO ABLE is a program that helps Missourians with disabilities be more independent and save money.
Families can use STABLE accounts to save for a child’s needs now and in the future. The money can help pay for health care, daily living and other important needs. It won’t affect government benefits. The savings are tax-free and can grow over time.
To see if your child or youth qualifies, you can answer a few simple questions online. Families can open a STABLE account with as little as $25. The money can be used for things that help the child or youth live a better life.
Some examples of qualified expenses include transportation, personal support services and living expenses.
The Southwest Family Partner, Angie Shuster, shared her experience with opening an account for her daughter. “It took less than 30 minutes to open the account, and it was super easy to transfer money into the account. I feel so much better knowing that we have a way to save for her needs in the future, without the fear of losing her SSI or Medicaid benefits.”
