The Second Regular Session of the 101st General Assembly Begins

The 101st General Assembly convened its second regular session on Wednesday, Jan. 5. Legislators spent the balance of the afternoon discussing the session ahead and how the first regular session concluded.
On Thursday, Jan. 6, pre-filed bills were second read and are expected to receive committee assignments in the coming days. To see the legislation the department is tracking, click the above bill tracking button.
The bill list includes legislation impacting higher education and workforce development, including the department’s top legislative priority, the Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant’s reauthorization and expansion to include more apprenticeship opportunities. The legislation (SB 672 and HB 2203) is sponsored by Sen. Lincoln Hough (R-Springfield) and Rep. Travis Fitzwater (R-Holts Summit).
