June Employee(s) of the Month

Congratulations to Bobby Barlow from the Chillicothe Job Center and Lisa Marshall from the Office of Workforce Development.

   

Bobby was recognized for his initiative to keep his staff connected with up-to-date information, his thoroughness and thoughtfulness in decision making, and his willingness to collaborate with others.

Lisa was recognized for her professionalism and dedication to excellence in her work, as well as being a supportive coworker to her peers.

Continue nominating your peers here on the intranet for any award. Our colleagues do such great work worth recognizing!

 

2021 Placemat

As we look to the future and what our goals for 2021 are, we think about the different initiatives or projects we can include on our department placemat that will help us achieve our mission to empower Missourians. Last week we talked about some ideas with the Leadership Council, which included a phase II of the Job Centers of the Future initiative and continued efforts on equity in higher education. With the disruptions of COVID-19 and restricted budgets, some ideas or focus areas may have shifted, but we have to stay on track to planning and strategizing for the upcoming year. Hopefully during conversations with your offices or supervisors you’ve been able to share ideas or suggestions you might have for initiatives that could help drive our core priorities to serve Missourians.

Please be sure to share any recommendations for the 2021 Department Placemat with me by COB on Friday, July 10. Pass the ideas up through your supervisor and provide as much detail or information about your idea as possible.

 

Communications Project Request Form

Last week Becky Dunn sent out an email providing updated instructions on how to request projects from the Communication’s Team using the designated forms. This process allows the team to collect the necessary details based on the type of project in an organized way so they can quickly work to produce the request. The links to the forms, as well as descriptions for use are located on the intranet under Staff Resources - Communications. If you have questions, you can contact the Communication’s Team at social@dhewd.mo.gov.

 

Statewide Title Reclassification Process

There will be a statewide workforce email coming out this Thursday that includes a video regarding the title reclassification process. If you do not receive the email or have any questions, please contact our HR.

 

Wellness

Thank you to the 11 DHEWDs that participated in the Lil June “Cultivating Joy” Challenge!! We hope it helped you find ways to notice, hold onto, and savor the joyful moments in your life. The two winners of the challenge, by random draw, are…Karen Rawlins, Trade Act Navigator at the Northland Job Center, and Dana Kixmiller, Coordinator I in Loan Operations (Central Office)! CONGRATULATIONS Karen and Dana!!! The Wellness Committee will mail your winnings to your home address.
