Governor Signs FY20 Supplemental Legislation
On Friday, April 10, Governor Mike Parson signed HB 2014, the FY20 Supplemental Budget passed by the Missouri General Assembly earlier in the week. In a press release, Governor Parson shared “we are very grateful for the action of the General Assembly, and for the cooperative work between the House and Senate, to accomplish this goal.”
The attention of Governor Parson and the General Assembly now turns to revising the FY21 budget.
Missouri Lawmakers Tentatively Set Capitol Return for April 27
On Wednesday, April 15, Missouri House and Senate leadership announced that lawmakers are tentatively scheduled to return to Jefferson City on Monday, April 27. In the joint statement, lawmakers expressed that the decision to return for business in less than two weeks, “was not an easy one” but that it was “absolutely critical for the people of Missouri that [they] keep the state government funded and services operating without interruption.”
The scheduled return will provide lawmakers three weeks to draft and pass a new FY21 budget and consider other legislative items.
