Catherine with Margaret Tucker in Sierre Leone, Africa |
Catherine has a passion in giving back. She has traveled to Sierre Leone, Africa on several mission trips to volunteer at Margaret's Orphanage. Projects included working on pouring footings on a latrine at Margaret’s Orphanage, sharing God’s love with the children, visiting a special needs school and establishing relationships with approximately 1000 of orphans at a drop in center in the most poverty stricken area of Sierra Leone.
Catherine is inspired by the strength of the leader, Margaret Tucker, of “Margaret’s Orphans." Margaret is a widow of the war and has taken in 23 orphans. As a result of her generosity, all 23 orphans now have access to food, water and shelter. Through being sponsored, all these children are now enrolled in school. Some have progressed on to college. Tucker also leads skill development workshops for female war widows. Her selfless giving and beautiful heart is a reminder of how strong women are created to be!
