To become M/WBE (Minority or Woman-Owned Business
Enterprise) certified in Missouri, a business must first meeting the
following qualifications:
- Is
the firm at least 51% owned by a woman or minority individual(s) who also
controls the firm?
- Is
the minority or woman owner a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent
resident of the U.S.
- Is
the firm organized as a for-profit business?
If you answered “Yes”
to all of the above questions, you are eligible to participate in the State of
Missouri W/MBE Certification program!
Certification as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and/or
Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) provides many great opportunities and
advantages, including:
- Supportive services
- Technical and non-technical assistance
- A greater opportunity to access and bid on state contracts. (All
certified M/WBE vendors appear on the Office of Equal Opportunity Directory of
Certified M/WBE Vendors, and both contractors and state agencies use this site
as a resource in soliciting certified minority and/or female participation for
ongoing groups.)
