JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Department of Economic Development released a disaster recovery action plan for public review and comment. Comments regarding the CDBG-DR Action Plan will be accepted through December 14, 2018.

The action plan outlines long-term recovery plans for areas in Missouri impacted by severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds, and flooding during the period of April 28 to May 11, 2017.

Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded Missouri $58.5 million in Community Development Block Grant disaster recovery (CDBG–DR) funds to help alleviate the unmet housing, infrastructure, and economic revitalization needs triggered by the floods of 2017.

In the Action Plan, the state identifies the proposed use of funds, criteria for eligibility, and how funds will address long-term recovery. Priority for the funding is to first address unmet housing needs. Future amendments to the Action Plan will address the infrastructure and economic revitalization unmet needs if the housing needs in the impacted areas of the state have been met.

Submissions or comments on the action plan can be submitted until December 14, 2018 from this page: ded.mo.gov/DisasterRecovery or comments may also be mailed to the Missouri Department of Economic Development, 301 W. High Street, P.O. Box 118, Jefferson City, MO 65102.
