Register now for the Application Workshop on September 27th
The CY2019 Youth Opportunities Program
(YOP) Guidelines and Application is now available at https://ded.mo.gov/programs/community/YOP
Applications will be accepted beginning December 1, 2018 and must be
postmarked no later than December 31, 2018. Applications will be reviewed
and scored competitively, with tax credits awarded based on score.
Approved 2019 projects may begin April 1, 2019, July 1, 2019, or October
1, 2019.
Administered
by the Department of Economic Development (DED or the Department), the YOP is a
tax credit for contribution program created to broaden and strengthen
opportunities for positive development for at-risk youth ages 21 years and
under, and to discourage youth from engaging in criminal and violent behavior.
Eligible YOP projects fall into the
following categories:
- Degree Completion
- Internship/Apprenticeship
- Youth Clubs/Associations
- Adopt-A-School
- Mentor/Role Model
- Substance Abuse Prevention
- Violence Prevention
- Youth Activity Centers
- Conflict Resolution
- Employment
- Counseling
Approved organizations secure contributions
from individuals and businesses in the community to implement a project, and
the contributor receives a 50% tax credit for their monetary
contribution. In-kind contributions of materials receive a 30% tax credit.
Organizations seeking assistance in
preparing an application for YOP may register to attend the application
workshop scheduled for September 27, 2018 in Jefferson City. To register,
