For the 57th annual Governor’s Conference on Economic Development, we will look at economic development from a new artistic angle. And to help us, we have recruited two leading speakers to discuss current strategies and trends in economic development:

AdeleFleetBacow

Opening Speaker: Adele Fleet Bacow

President of Community Partners Consultants, Inc., and author of Designing the City: A Guide for Advocates and Public Officials, Adele Fleet Bacow develops creative approaches to economic development, program and strategic planning, community cultural development, design and the arts. You may have seen Ms. Bacow on TEDTalks, where she addresses, “The role of art in urban development: creating places, reviving cities, and making a difference in the lives of people.”

JonRoberts

Closing Speaker: Jon Roberts

Jon Roberts, who received rave reviews at the 2014 Governor’s Conference on Economic Development, will return this year to close the conference. Jon is the principal and managing director of TIP Strategies, Inc. Putting theory into practice by combining rigorous data analysis with the latest thinking in economic development, workforce training and community-based principles, a hallmark of Jon’s work is recognizing the relationships between seemingly unconnected trends and offering a clear path of action.
