Missouri Population
Estimates: 2010-2015
The U.S. Census Bureau recently released new county-level
and metropolitan area population data estimates for 2015. The data marks the
first county-level estimates for this year’s cycle, and shows components of
population change include births, deaths and net migration for the period of
2010-2015.
According to the data, the five Missouri counties with the
largest percentage change in population during this time period are:
► Platte County: 7.6 percent growth (+6,779)
► Boone County: 7.6 percent growth (+12,332)
► Christian County: 7.6 percent growth (+5,860)
► St. Charles County: 7 percent growth (+25,105)
► Clay County: 6.2 percent growth (+13,763)
Overall, Missouri gained 94,745 new residents between 2010
and 2015, for total population growth of 1.6 percent. The state now has
6,083,672 citizens, making it the 18th most populous state in the
nation.
