Cerner to invest more than $500 million in Lee’s Summit

In a deal valued at $528 million, Kansas City-based healthcare IT firm Cerner Corporation will add equipment and purchase space at the Summit Technology Campus in Lee's Summit, which it currently occupies.

This new investment follows Cerner’s historic Missouri expansion plans unveiled last year. In January 2014, Cerner announced its purchase of the Three Trails Crossing property in Kansas City, paving the way for a $4.3 billion redevelopment project that will create up to 15,000 new jobs in the area. During a groundbreaking ceremony in November 2014, Cerner’s redevelopment project was revised up to a $4.45 billion investment, with an additional 1,000 jobs created.
