28 for FREE opportunity to harvest your first deer with guidance from MDC
staff.
COLUMBIA,
Mo. — The Missouri Department of
Conservation (MDC) will offer youth hunters an opportunity to learn about deer
biology, management, and hunting tactics followed by a guided hunt near
Columbia.
The event will take place on Oct. 27-28 near Columbia. Participants
will go through firearms safety, deer biology and management, and hunting
tactics. Youth will then sight-in rifles at a shooting range.
Following the orientation on Saturday morning, youth will have
the opportunity to participate in a guided hunt near Columbia. Guides and lunch
will be provided, and equipment will be available for those who need it.
“Missouri has a proud history of quality deer hunting,” said MDC
Outdoor Skills Specialist Justin McGuire. “We are excited to offer this
opportunity to kids who might not otherwise have the opportunity to deer hunt.”
This FREE
program is open to youth ages 11-15 years old. Space is limited and participants
