 With less than a month to go before the final open enrollment deadline for Qualified Health Plans, we are working to make sure individuals and families have access to people who can help them sign up. Certified MNsure navigators are offering support throughout the state, both by appointment and through enrollment events.

There are two important deadlines this month for individuals and families purchasing health insurance coverage during open enrollment.
Saturday, March 15, 2014: Plan selection and payment for the first month’s premium is due on or before this date for coverage starting April 1, 2014.
Monday, March 31, 2014: Plan selection and payment for the first month’s premium is due on or before this date for coverage starting May 1, 2014. This is also the last day of open enrollment and the last day to enroll in health insurance inside or outside of MNsure without facing a tax penalty.
Both of these deadlines apply to individuals and families enrolling for the first time through MNsure. These deadlines do not apply to anyone currently covered. These deadlines also do not apply to Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare recipients or participants in the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP).
We strongly recommend completing the application, plan selection and payment steps online, in one session, for the most expedited service. If you do not pay online, you will be billed directly by their insurance company, and can no longer pay MNsure for your first month’s premium.
There are multiple resources available to get answers about eligibility and payments, coverage options, provider networks and more. Where you go for help can depend on your specific question.
The MNsure Contact Center (1-855-366-7873) can assist with general, technical and account-related questions. If you were determined eligible for an Advanced Premium Tax Credit, or are purchasing a Qualified Health Plan, the Contact Center can also answer questions about your application status.
If you were determined eligible for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, you should call the MHCP Member Help Desk (651-431-2670 or 1-800-657-3739) for any question relating to your application, billing or coverage.
If you purchased a Qualified Health Plan through MNsure and have questions about what is covered, doctor networks or billing, you should contact your insurance company’s customer service department.
