MNsure Bulletin

A Word from the CEO

MNsure recently awarded over $4.1 million in grant funds to 19 nonprofit organizations that employ MNsure-certified navigators, who offer free health insurance application and enrollment help.

This funding supports their outreach and enrollment work in communities across the state, especially populations experiencing the lowest rates of insurance, most significant health disparities, and greatest barriers to enrollment. This year, we are excited to announce that Universal Health Solutions in Minneapolis is receiving grant funds for the very first time.

We value and appreciate the efforts of our 19 grantee organizations — as well as their paid partners — to help more Minnesotans get covered.

With just a few weeks to go before November 1, MNsure is preparing for our annual open enrollment period. Minnesotans can now preview 2025 medical and dental plans on MNsure.org, and our assister partners are also getting ready to help consumers apply and enroll.

If you plan to work with a MNsure-certified broker or navigator, schedule an appointment now, before their calendars fill up. If you haven’t worked with one before, use our online assister directory to find free help near you!

ICYMI: Enhanced Subsidies Continue to Make Insurance More Affordable

With enhanced federal subsidies continuing through 2025, Minnesotans who need health insurance for next year can look forward to signing up through MNsure.

All Minnesotans can find a plan with premiums that cost no more than 8.5% of their annual income. More middle-income families in Minnesota — who weren’t eligible before — are receiving tax credits and the larger savings are helping to keep health care costs in check.

“On average, we expect households that receive financial help through MNsure will save $561 per month on their health insurance premiums in 2025,” said CEO Libby Caulum.

Using Your Coverage: Flu Shots and Other Vaccinations

Person getting vaccination shot

Use your health insurance to stay healthy, not only when you are sick or have an emergency. As one of the 10 “essential health benefits,” immunizations are covered by all plans sold through MNsure.

It’s important to stay up to date with your vaccinations. Take action this fall and winter to protect yourself and others from respiratory viruses, including COVID-19, flu and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
