MNsure Is Helping Minnesotans Find New Coverage

front of MNsure postcard that says Did you lose Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare coverage? Don't risk a gap in your health insurance.

You may have heard that the Minnesota Department of Human Services has restarted annual eligibility renewals for Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare enrollees.

MNsure is playing an important role in helping those who no longer are eligible for those public health care programs find new coverage, by providing a smooth transition to private medical and dental insurance.

In addition to our official notices that are sent to those who are newly eligible for private plans, we are:

  • mailing postcards
  • sending emails to educate consumers about their options through MNsure
  • using text messages to communicate important information and deadline reminders
  • collaborating with other state agencies to reach more Minnesotans
  • working with our certified assisters across the state to provide free help to those transitioning to private insurance

Get more information at MNsure.org/newcoverage.

Solicitation for Broker Enrollment Center Initiative

MNsure is accepting proposals from licensed broker agencies interested in becoming broker enrollment centers to partner on a joint marketing campaign in certain regions of the state. Responses are due Wednesday, July 5, at 2 p.m.

Keep Your Contact Info Up to Date and Report Changes

Report household changes such as income change, address change, additions to family

Enrolled in a private insurance plan through MNsure? Make sure to update your MNsure account if any of your information changes. That includes a new address, changes to your income or additions to your family.

You need to report any changes that affect your enrollment or your eligibility for financial help within 30 days of the change.

If you are enrolled in Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, it’s important to keep your contact information updated so you can be reached when it’s time to renew. If you’ve moved in the past three years or you will be moving soon, please update your address, phone number and email today. Visit mn.gov/dhs/mycontactinfo to learn more.

Coverage Available Through Special Enrollment

You could still qualify to enroll through a special enrollment period.

When you experience big life events like getting married, having a baby or moving, you can be eligible for a special enrollment period to enroll in 2023 medical and dental insurance.

Go to our website for a list of qualifying life events to learn more.

If you qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, or are a member of a federally recognized American Indian tribe, you can enroll through MNsure at any time of the year.
