Picking a Plan: Understand Your Options

Understand your coverage - review your health insurance info

There are some important things to keep in mind as you research health plans for you or your family. For instance, is your current doctor or clinic in the plan's network? What prescriptions are covered?

Shop smart: know what each plan covers and how much you will pay before you pick your plan.

New “Pay Now” Option for First Month Premiums

People enrolling in private plans can pay their first month’s premium through the MNsure enrollment dashboard. This option is for Delta Dental, Dentegra, Guardian, HealthPartners and Quartz plans.

Look for the Pay Now button on the enrollment confirmation screen and the current enrollments screen. The button will connect you to the insurance company’s payment portal.

2022 Coverage Still Available Through Special Enrollment

You could still qualify to enroll through a special enrollment period.

When you experience big life events like getting married, having a baby or moving, you can be eligible for a special enrollment period to enroll in 2022 coverage.

If you qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, or are a member of a federally recognized American Indian tribe, you can enroll through MNsure at any time of the year.


Advisory Committee Openings

MNsure is seeking applicants to fill open seats on the Consumer and Small Employer Advisory Committee and the Health Industry Advisory Committee. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Friday, December 16.
