5 days to the deadline for Jan. 1 coverage

Not covered yet? Time is running out. There are just five days until the December 15 deadline for January 1 health insurance coverage. Missing this deadline means you risk having a gap in 2019 coverage.

(Open enrollment goes until Jan. 13, but you only have until Dec. 15 to enroll in coverage that begins Jan. 1.)

Remember, MNsure is the only place to qualify for tax credits that can make your monthly premiums more affordable. Minnesota families are receiving on average a tax credit of $5,700 per year for 2019. Check the income limits to see if you qualify.

If you enrolled in a 2018 private plan through MNsure and your plan is available in 2019, you do not need to take action, unless you want to change plans, or if you need to update your household information (such as income or address changes).

Note: This open enrollment does not apply if you are enrolled in MinnesotaCare or Medical Assistance. If you qualify for one of those programs, or are a member of a federally recognized American Indian tribe, you can enroll year-round.
