MNsure Bulletin

A Word from the CEO

If you've enrolled in health coverage through us, thank you for using MNsure. I hope having coverage gives you peace of mind, and I encourage you to familiarize yourself with your plan's network so that you can use your coverage when you need it. More information on knowing your network is found below.

If you still need to find health insurance, explore your options on MNsure.org. While open enrollment has ended, some Minnesotans are still able to enroll. Individuals eligible for MinnesotaCare or Medical Assistance can find coverage through MNsure year-round. Additionally, Minnesotans who experience a qualifying life event or loss of coverage may be eligible for a special enrollment period so long as they act within 60 days.

Every Minnesotan deserves the security of health coverage. I'm happy MNsure can be the place to which hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans turn to find that coverage.

Allison O'Toole, CEO

Using Your Coverage: Know Your Network

Know your network

Do you know what medical network your plan covers, and which doctors are in-network?

Don't pay more than you have to for your medical care. Make sure the doctors and clinics you go to are in your plan's network. Before you schedule a medical test or procedure, check if the doctors and health care facilities are in-network to avoid surprise big bills.

2018 Coverage Available through Special Enrollment

Big life events like getting married, having a baby, or losing insurance due to a layoff can make you eligible for a special enrollment period in 2018. You may qualify for a special effective date of coverage. Go to our website for a list of qualifying life events and find out how to apply for a special enrollment period. In most cases, you must enroll within 60 days of the event.

If you qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, or are a member of a federally recognized Indian tribe, you can enroll through MNsure at any time of the year.
