At the June meeting
of MNsure’s Board of Directors, I announced the release of our assister portal
pilot program evaluation. During this past open enrollment period, MNsure
piloted an assister portal that gave enhanced enrollment capacity to a targeted
group of 150 navigators, brokers and certified application counselors.
The
evaluation found the pilot program to be a success. Assisters were able to
enroll consumers through the portal, and they provided MNsure with feedback
that allowed us to improve the process.
I’m happy to report
that we are now ready to release the assister portal to all navigators,
brokers and certified application counselors, beginning with the upcoming open
enrollment period.
Assisters are key
partners with MNsure and have played a crucial role in insuring 96% of
Minnesotans and bringing the state’s uninsured rate to its lowest point in
history. While there are still enhancements to be made on the assister portal,
we know this is a tool that the community has been asking for. We’re pleased to
have the opportunity this fall to share this tool with the full assister
community.

life events and find out how to apply for a special enrollment period.
If you qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, are a member of
a federally recognized Indian tribe, or are a small group employer, you can
enroll through MNsure at any time of the year.
