SLPQI

SLPQI Pilot Overview

The Summer Learning Program Quality Intervention (SLPQI) pilot is an opportunity to improve summer program quality through access to a free external program quality assessment, coaching and training for 15 summer programs. Past years the Sprockets Network has built upon a continuous improvement cycle that met the needs of school year OST programs.  However, incorporating summer quality work hasn't been tackled on a network level.  Sprockets was selected as one of two cities (Denver) for a two year pilot of a network approach to quality improvements for summer. A partnership between the National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) and the David P. Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality (Weikart) has resulted in an adapted version of our familiar YPQA that incorporates aspects unique to summer, along with an improvement cycle that meets the needs of busy summer programs. See the full story.
