City of St. Michael Announces New Member of the City Council

Chuck Lefebvre was sworn in at the September 23 St. Michael City Council meeting. Lefebvre was appointed to the remainder of Joe Hagerty’s council term (ends Dec. 31, 2026) after Hagerty took over as Mayor when Keith Wettschreck retired.

Lefebvre graduated from STMA High School and has lived most of his adult life in St. Michael. He served on the STMA School Board from 1992 to 2010, where he helped guide the community through tremendous growth and the building of four new school buildings, as well as expansions and improvements to other facilities.

During his tenure on the Board, the practice of holding regular joint meetings with city councils and administrative leadership of the cities of Albertville and St. Michael was established. This allowed the School Board to stay in close communication with city leaders and cooperatively plan for and manage growth in the communities.
