2024 General Election

Work at City Hall is finally starting to normalize after the completion of the 2024 General Election.
"A special thanks to the many judges who worked at the polls and helped at City Hall processing the absentee ballots and helping with early voting," said St. Michael City Clerk Diana Case.

Early Voting
An amazing 7,228 people voted early, including 914 on the Monday before Election Day at City Hall. Our numbers surpassed the number of people who voted at Wright County that day! That is 52% of St. Michael registered voters who cast their ballots prior to Election Day.
Early voting started on September 20 and much of the work at that time was mailing out absentee ballots to residents. However, residents could also begin voting in-person on that same day. Direct-voting (when the voter is able to physically put their own ballot into the ballot machine/counter) began October 18.
The State also expanded extra voting hours for this Election to include
- The second to last Saturday before Election Day from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- The last Saturday and Sunday before Election Day from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- The Tuesday before Election day until 7 p.m.
- The day before Election day until 5 p.m.
Election Day Voting
Residents voted in their designated precincts on Election Day. There were 5,509 voters total over St. Michael's four precincts. In all, 92% of our registered voters cast their ballots.
"Thanks to our awesome school facilities, staff, and election judges, the election day ran very smoothly with minimal issues and wait times," shared City Administrator Steven Bot.
And thank you to all of the residents who came out to vote and have their voices be heard.
