Angela Lynn Cerney Sentenced
Court file #69VI-CR-26-467
Today, in St. Louis County District Court in Virginia, the Honorable Robert Friday sentenced Angela Lynn Cerney, 42, to 83 months in prison for First-Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, announced St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki.
The conviction stems from a May 17, 2026, operation in which investigators of the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force and assisting agencies executed a search warrant at Ms. Cerney’s Virginia, Minnesota residence. Officers discovered a safe containing seven individually packed baggies of a white substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, together weighing over 100 grams, and over $4,000 in cash.
“Methamphetamine continues to harm individuals and families across our county,” said St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki, “We are committed to holding people accountable for serious drug offenses and appreciate the careful, coordinated work of the investigators who brought this case forward.”
The St. Louis County Attorney’s Office credits the successful outcome in this matter to the thorough investigation by the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force, St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, and the Virginia Police Department.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant County Attorney Chris Florey.
