Two lost hunters found
On September 28th at approximately 6:40 PM the St. Louis County Rescue Squad and Sheriff deputies were dispatched to the report of two lost hunters near the intersection of South Townline Road and Hingeley Rd, located south of Hibbing.
Upon the arrival of first responders on scene, a drone was launched and a short time later was able to locate both lost individuals, approximately 1/2 of a mile from the roadway in the woods.
ATVs were used to get as close as possible to the two lost hunters before first responders needed to traverse a heavily wooded area on foot for approximately 1/4 of a mile.
Contact was made with a 40-year-old, male from Duluth and 39-year-old, female from Hibbing. Both individuals were subsequently, led back to the road by rescuers.
There were no report injuries to either hunter or first responders during this rescue.
