Semi tractor-trailer rollover
On September 21st, 2026, at approximately 11:49 P.M., the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to a semi tractor-trailer rollover near the 4800 Block of Highway 21 in Embarrass Township. The caller reported a lone male occupant who sustained a head injury.
Deputies and medical first responders arrived on scene to assist. During their investigation, it was learned a 58-year-old male from Blackduck, MN was the driver and owner of the tractor-trailer. The driver sustained minor injuries to the head area and was treated by area first responders. The driver stated a vehicle pulled out in front of him which caused him to swerve and lose control. The tractor-trailer then went into the ditch and overturned. The cargo on board were large railroad ties. The male was transported by area ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver's name is being withheld pending formal charges. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident. The driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. A Minnesota State Patrol commercial vehicle inspector will be investigating the accident.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was assisted by local fire départements and ambulance service.
