ATV accident with injuries
On September 13th, 2026, around 12:45 A.M., The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to an ATV rollover near the 8100 Block of Pulkinen Road in Unorganized Township 61r14. The caller reported a side by side rolled over near a turn in the roadway with two people injured.
Area first responders arrived on scene and provided medical attention to the parties involved. The driver, a 32-year-old male from Babbitt, was transported to an area Hospital by air medical due to the severity of his injuries. The female passenger, identified as a 22-year-old from Babbitt, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for her injuries.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor. Names of those involved are being withheld pending further investigation and formal charges. There were no witnesses to the crash, however, it is believed both parties were ejected from the side by side. The occupants were not wearing helmets.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was assisted by area ambulance services, air medical, and area Fire departments.
