Fatal structure fire in Normanna Township
On 8/24/26 at about 1352 hours., a neighbor called 911 after hearing several propane tanks explode and finding the neighboring residence actively on fire. Fire personnel and deputies responded to the area of E. Pioneer Rd. and Pioneer Jct. Rd in Normanna Township. At that time, multiple outbuildings were found fully engulfed and firefighting efforts commenced.
As the fire was knocked down, a deceased male was located on scene. Firefighting efforts are continuing at this time and the incident remains under active investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office and the State Fire Marshal.
UPDATE:
The victim has been identified as 57 year old Scott Alan Larson of Normanna Township. The incident remains under investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
