One in Custody after Discharging Handgun
In the early morning hours of August 9, 2026, St. Louis County deputies were dispatched to the area of Pequaywan Lake Road and Fox Farm Road in North Star Township following a report of a person with a firearm who had shot toward another individual.
Several young adults were gathered at a bonfire off Fox Farm Road when a male suspect and his friends arrived. The suspect and his friends were asked to leave due to the suspect having issues with multiple people at the gathering.
The suspect subsequently fired two rounds from a handgun during the altercation.
Deputies arrested an 18-year-old male and lodged him in the St. Louis County Jail on charges of 2nd Degree Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Terroristic Threats, and Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit. A 9mm handgun and several rounds of ammunition were recovered.
No one was physically injured during this incident.
The reckless and dangerous discharge of a firearm will not be tolerated in our community.
