Residence destroyed by fire 

On August 4, 2026 at approximately 2:42 AM, several fire departments and law-enforcement were dispatched to the report of a structure fire at 2255 Harris Bay Road, which is located on the Whiteface Reservoir. 

Two occupant of the residence, including two dogs were able to get out of the house before it became fully engulfed in flames. 

There were no reported injuries however one of the occupants of the residence was examined by medical staff. 

A thunderstorm had moved through the area prior to being dispatched to call. 

Occupants of the residence and neighbors reported hearing a very large boom before the fire. 

A lightning strike is being looked at as a possible contributing factor to the fire. 

The rsidence is considered a complete loss. 

The incident remains under investigation by the St Louis County Sheriffs Office and State Fire Marshals Office.
