Gnesen Township Grassfire

On Sunday, August 2nd, 2026, at approximately 3:35 P.M. area fire departments, The St. Louis County Rescue Squad, and The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a grassfire in the area of the 7500 block of Vermilion Trail in Gnesen Township. The fire was contained to an area approximately 200 yards west of Vermilion Trail.

No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
