ATV accident with injuries
On July 11th, 2026, at approximately 8:46 P.M., the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to a crash involving a pickup truck and an ATV in Lavell Township. The initial caller reported that a male was injured and unresponsive after his ATV overturned.
A 14-year-old male from California was operating an ATV behind his father when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck. The impact caused the ATV to overturn, ejecting the juvenile. When first responders arrived, he was conscious and speaking. He was transported to a local medical facility by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries. The juvenile was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the pickup stated he observed the father pull out onto the roadway but did not see second ATV. According to the driver of the pickup, he attempted to swerve but struck the rear of the juvenile's ATV, causing it to overturn.
The crash remains under investigation by the Deputies.
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Toivola first responders, Toivola Fire Department, and Meadowlands ambulance service.
