Hit and Run / Vehicle Fire

The Driver of the pickup truck has been identified as 66-year-old Randy Johnson of Orr. He was lodged at the Virginia Jail on charges of DUI and Failure to Stop for an Accident.

At around 4:20 PM on 6/15/2026 St. Louis County Deputies were dispatched to a report of a vehicle hit and run on the Orr Buyck Rd. near Schlomka Rd. The occupants of the vehicle that was struck reported no injuries. A pickup truck was seen leaving the scene traveling West bound on Orr Buyck Rd.
Deputies then received another call of a vehicle fire in a driveway a short distance away. The vehicle matched the description of the truck involved in the hit and run. Upon Deputies arriving on scene of the pickup truck fire, it was found to be fully engulfed in flames and unoccupied. The driver of the pickup truck was located, denied any injuries and is being processed for DWI related charges.
St. Louis County was assisted by the Bois Forte Police, Crane lake Fire, Buyck Fire and Orr Fire.
