Industrial Township Motorcycle Fatality
***UPDATE*** The deceased is identified as WILLIAM MARTIN HELGEMOE, 56, of Saginaw, MN

On June 12, 2026, at approximately 7:00 pm, emergency responders were dispatched to the area near the intersection of Industrial Road and Hemman Lane in Industrial Township for the report of a motorcycle crash with an injured male rider. Initial investigation shows the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Industrial and failed to navigate a left-hand curve in the roadway. The motorcycle left the roadway into the ditch and appeared to overturn.
Emergency responders attempted life saving measures, however, the 56-year-old adult male from Saginaw, Minnesota was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification to family. This incident remains under investigation and there is no further information at this time.
Assisting the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office with this incident were responders from Industrial Township Fire Department, Grand Lake Fire Department, Cloquet Fire/Ambulance Service, MN State Patrol, and the Rescue Squad
