Gas grill causes fire
On May 26, 2026 at approximately 12:21 AM, the Orr fire department and several surrounding mutual aid fire departments responded to the report of a structure fire in the 5000 block of Old Hwy 53 located a few miles north of Orr, MN.
It was reported that the fire was caused by a gas grill on the deck of the residence.
Thankfully, the fire department was able to quickly get the fire under control.
The homeowner, who was the only occupant of the residence, was treated on scene for smoke inhalation by EMS and later released.
It is believed that a faulty gas line on the gas grill contributed to the fire.
The incident remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Fire Marshall’s Office.
