Lakewood Township Structure Fire
On May 16, 2026 at 1321 hours, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, Lakewood Fire Department and multiple other agencies were dispatched to a fully involved structure fire in the 5200 block of Lakewood Road.
When arriving on scene, the residence was engulfed in flames and ultimately a complete loss. There were no injuries and all parties were able to exit the residence. The home was insured. The fire does not seem suspicious in nature and no foul play is suspected. The MN State Fire Marshal's Office was consulted.
Additional fire crews and drones responded to catch any hot spots from the embers due to high winds and extreme fire conditions. All hot spots were located and extinguished and the work of the local fire departments kept the fire from spreading beyond the residence.
